The site is a small,flat, previously undeveloped inward looking lot surrounded by dense vegetation and houses in the middle of a mature resort community. The program is a residence for a husband and wife.The solution was to create "openness with an edge," in the form of an L shaped courtyard, informed by the peculiar characteristics of the site and the climatic demands of South Florida living. All rooms of the house look onto the pool; the guest wing was made to feel isolated and private, while convenient to the main components of the house.
