Located high on a mountain ridge in the Pacific Palisades the residence overlooks both the ocean, LAX and the nearby Santa Monica Mountains. The project forms mimic those of the traditional pitched roof cottage, however stripping them clean of overhangs, material differentiation and habitual details.
The program calls for a hillside pool, tree house observation lounge and a public entry through the mature eucalyptus grove to the slightly under 5,000 square foot house for an active family of four with a love of art, entertaining and books.
